Graceling by Kristen Cashore

This fantasy novel is beautiful. The plot is how it should be and its king. Never will the reader falter to believe what is going on which is hard for a fantasy writer to convey. Katsa the feminine heroine has her reasons to be cool and nearly uncharacterly, but she is believable because of her past. Po on the other hand is charming and lovable (even with that horrible name) and it is obvious they are meant to be together.
The story opens with kick ass adventure leaving the reader with a dropped jaw and mellows after the first few pages into a normal read, normal being heartbreakingly beautiful and amazing. Graceling is usually found in the adult/fantasy but that said a child could pick it up and be sent away on a rollicking journey through the seven kingdoms, in which Graceling is set. If you aren't a fan of Tolkien this is a suburban fantasy but if, like me, your obsessed you will love this masterpiece. A five star for me.
