Fearless by Tim Lott

I rip the wrapping paper to shreds, hoping to god that its another book. please, please, please I beg. It feels like a book, it smells like a book but as I glare at the front cover I see its cover isn't like a normal book. okay, okay, don't judge a book by its cover but two withering angels does look freaky to a twelve year old. A tight-lipped smile says thank you and Fearless goes in a drawer locked up forever, wouldn't you think? Well, a few years after, while rummaging for a good book to read I find the freaky cover back in my hands. My hunger for a book won over my fear and I actually read it. I read one page and then another one, until with surprise I found I was hooked.
I'm in love with Little Fearless, I can picture what she drinks, orange juice; what she wears, a tattered cardigan; her bad habit? Picking her nose of course! She is so alive that even when the book is over, not very long after I started it, she is buzzing around in my mind. I adore the characters names, very personality-revealing: Stench, Beauty, Tattle etc.(!) Reading Fearless was like going back in time when you were young again, lying to your parents about a stolen lolly, standing up for what you thought were your rights and all those crazy adventures in your back garden are reminisced. This is a perfect read for anyone wishing to be a child again.
